Hi, I'm Sara!
Photographer, wife, mama, storyteller, and a firm believer that God has a purpose for every passion He places on our hearts.
I believe the Lord plants passions in our hearts long before we understand where they will lead. For me, that passion was photography.
Some of my sweetest childhood memories are sitting with my grandmother and mother, flipping through old photo albums filled with familiar faces, beautiful memories, and stories of days gone by. I didn't realize it then, but those moments were planting the seeds for something that would eventually become such a big part of my life.
I graduated from MSU with a bachelor's degree in Communication, fully expecting to pursue a career in marketing. But in 2012, when our son was born, everything changed. I purchased a simple beginner camera because I didn't want to miss a single moment of his life. I wanted to remember every tiny detail, every expression, and every stage that seemed to pass far too quickly.
What started as a mama with a camera quickly became something more. I took classes, practiced every chance I could, and fell more in love with the art of photography with every click of the shutter.
Today, I'm blessed to be a wife, a mama to two wonderful children, and the owner of Sara Cassidy Photography. My family is my greatest gift, my faith is the foundation of my life, and photography is one of the ways I get to share the gifts God has given me.
Life has also taught me just how precious our time together really is. As a breast cancer survivor, I understand in a deeply personal way that tomorrow is never promised. The photographs we take today may one day become some of our family's most treasured possessions. That perspective has changed not only the way I see life, but also the way I see my work.
I don't want to simply take a pretty picture. I want to create something meaningful. Something that makes you feel beautiful, confident, loved, and seen. Whether we're documenting the beautiful chaos of family life, celebrating a milestone, or creating an elaborate, one-of-a-kind portrait experience, my heart is in every detail.
Over the years, I've been incredibly honored to have my work featured in publications including Unscripted, Brand Model Magazine, Fashion Kids Magazine, Big City Kids, and Rising Model Magazine. While those accomplishments are exciting, nothing compares to the privilege of being invited into someone's life to preserve moments they'll never get back.
And perhaps my favorite part of this journey? Knowing that somewhere, years from now, someone may be sitting with their children or grandchildren, flipping through photographs I took, sharing stories, laughing, remembering, and holding those memories close.
Just like I once did with my grandmother and mother.
